Check out this brief Salon interview with Naomi Klein, author of The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism. I'll be integrating her take on "disaster capitalism" into my Katrina paper, which I'll be giving in December at the Centre for the Study of Social and Global Justice at the University of Nottingham.
If you're a subscriber to Harper's (and if you're not, why aren't you?), you can read her article on the topic here. I'll be interested to see how her ideas resonate with what I've been calling "political physiology."
Update 9/23/07: Jeff Roland sends a link to this Klein interview at Democracy Now.
You likely don't remember me, but we met via Michael Naas in Paris about three years ago. It was after Derrida spoke in Cicoux's seminar. Anyway, I attend Nottingham now and look forward to making your talk.

John,
I just read it. Sad but true.
I'm still hoping for a new New Dea.
I'd love to read the current version of your Katrina paper.
